Post Finishes & Rust Inhibitors

E-Tec 501 E-Tec 505 E-Tec 502 E-Tec 505+

The E-Tec formulations are solvent based rust and corrosion inhibitors and lubricants for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. They rapidly displace moisture from metal pores and recesses leaving a thin, transparent film which seals out moisture. The films are continuous, polar and non-conductive. They will not gum under high humidity or high temperature conditions. They are harmless to plastic, rubber, paints and certain silicones.

E-Tec 512 and E-Tec 513

E-Tec 512 and E-Tec 513 are rust preventatives formulated with emulsifiers and waxes and used at full strength or diluted with up to 50% by volume with water at 70F to 130F. E-Tec 512 is a rust preventive that provides an extremely thin, waxy, dry-to-the-touch superior salt spray corrosion resistant film and provides up to 150 hours salt spray on hot black oxide *(see note on salt spraying). E-Tec 513 is formulated to give a higher degree of corrosion resistance than 512. Salt spray resistance of E-Tec 513 reaches 250 hours on black oxides *(see note on salt spraying). E-Tec 513 has approximately three to four times more film thickness than the E-Tec 512. The end result is a film with a slight sheen and very slight tacky feel which is almost dry-to-the-touch. E-Tec 512 and E-Tec 513 provide excellent lubricity and anti-wear characteristics as conducted with Falex tests. ASTM-B-117 ASTM-D-1748. E-Tec 512 and E-Tec 513 can be used over EPI’s Ultra-Blak and Insta-Blak black metal finishes and the E-Phos zinc/manganese phosphate and also over bare steel.

E-Tec 520 & 520-C Gloss Acrylic Lacquer

E-Tec 520 & 520-C Gloss Acrylic Lacquer Mildly alkaline water based solution used to deposit a corrosion inhibiting, hard, clear, glossy dry finish. It is used on all bare metal surfaces and all types of conversion coatings, black oxide, antique/oxidized and phosphate finishes. E-Tec 520-C is utilized on copper and brass to enhance their corrosion resistance. Thickness: Coverage: Approximate pH: Flash Point: Percentage Solids: Dry Time: Dilution: Approximately 0.09 mil Approximately 2900 sq. ft./gallon 9.9 and should be maintained at 9.5 or above with periodic additions of ammonia None 16.5% Approximately 10 minutes. Drying is accelerated with heated air or centrifuging It is normally applied full strength, but may be diluted with up to an equal volume of water for a thinner film with reduced corrosion and abrasion resistance. Dilution changes the above characteristics.

E-Tec 521 Gloss Wax

E-Tec 521 Gloss wax emulsion used to deposit a semi-hard, clear, dry wax finish as added protection over bare metal, black oxide, conversion coatings and phosphate finishes. Finish has some lubricating characteristics. Thickness: Coverage: Approximate pH: Flash Point: Percentage Solids: Dry Time: Dilution: Approximately 0.20 mil Approximately 2000 sq. ft./gallon 8.5 and should be maintained at pH 8.5 or above with periodic additions of ammonia. None 20% Approximately 10 minutes. Drying is accelerated with heated air or centrifuging. It is normally applied full strength, but may be diluted with up to an equal volume of water for a thinner film with reduced corrosion and abrasion resistance. Dilution changes the above characteristics.

E-Tec 522 Satin Wax

E-Tec 522 Satin Wax emulsion used to deposit a clear, hard, dry finish as added protection on bare metal, black oxide, conversion coatings and phosphate finishes. The finish can be buffed to a greater luster. Makes an excellent dry film lubricant for phosphated steel. Thickness: Approximately 0.2 mil Coverage: Approximately 2400 sq. ft./gallon Approximate pH: 8.8 to 9.4 maintained with periodic additions of ammonia. Flash Point: None Percentage Solids: 24% Dry time: Approximately 15 minutes. Drying is accelerated with heated air or centrifuging. Dilution: It is normally applied full strength, but may be diluted with up to an equal volume of water for a thinner film with reduced corrosion and abrasion resistance. Dilution changes the above characteristics.

NORTEX CORROSION PREVENTIVE 250-C

NORTEX CORROSION PREVENTIVE 250-C is a combination of corrosion inhibitors, emulsifiers, and spreading agents in an oil base. When added to water, it forms an immersion rustproofing liquid emulsion. The special corrosion inhibitors and emulsifiers are synergistic in their ability to impart corrosion protection on any metal part on which it is applied. Superior corrosion protection is provided over a broad range of concentrations resulting in a low cost product tailored to performance requirements. Advantages of NORTEX CORROSION PREVENTIVE 250-C include: • Corrosion protection is enhanced when NORTEX CORROSION PREVENTIVE 250-C coating is applied to zinc phosphated parts as well as bare ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. • The thin, self-sealing film produced by NORTEX CORROSION PREVENTIVE 250-C will not build-up in threads or recessed areas. • NORTEX CORROSION PREVENTIVE 250-C is a water emulsion that avoids fire hazards associated with other oil coatings.
